Goals
The main goal of EMPRISE® is to meet the requirements of detailed study in the context of modern radar applications, such as imaging radars, Doppler, multi-path or active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars, in maritime, aerial, or terrestrial environments, using a unified method. This choice is motivated by the desire to capitalize on expertise in electromagnetic environment modeling and to share knowledge among different players in the field. This ambition, supported by French DGA and ONERA, aims to meet the needs of several industrial equipment manufacturers and the academic radar community. Given the wide range of applications and radar modes covered, it is essential to faithfully reproduce all effects induced by the radar kinematics, its antenna, the scene and moving objects on the signal phase over time, including for long integration times.
